How Do Supermodels Work Out? Together, Of Course
About the author
“Together, we are stronger,” according to the old adage about teamwork. It’s a sentiment that our favourite Stateside model set is taking quite literally; they nearly always work out in pairs or trios. Whether it’s Kaia Gerber and her boyfriend Jacob Elordi, or Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber, sculpting those famously honed physiques is a team effort. And, well… it seems to be working for them.
“Working out with a friend helps to shift the narrative away from exercise being seen as a penance, and towards something fun, rewarding and pleasurable,” explains personal trainer and strength and conditioning specialist, Luke Worthington. “Of course, the primary reason for going to the gym is for the workout itself and to improve our health, but if that can be combined with a social experience too, then it becomes so much more than that – which makes us more likely to do it regularly.”
The most important part of working out (for both our physical and mental health) is consistency, and making each exercise session a fun one with the help of your friends is a surefire way to create habits that stick. Add to that the fact that we are infinitely less likely to cancel on a friend than on ourselves, and it would seem that our model friends across the pond really are onto something.
